There is opinion by some people that the perfect cup of coffee can only come from a French press. The French press offers unparalleled flavor due to perfect extraction time and delivery of the volatile oils that are often trapped in paper filters.
Pull the plunger unit straight up and out of the pot.
1.    Boil the correct amount of water. The perfect temperature is between 195-205°F.
2.    Freshly grind the coffee beans using a course setting.
3.    Remove the plunger.
4.    Scoop one heaping tablespoon (7g, or one coffee measure) of medium grinded coffee at the bottom of the glass per 6 ounces of water.
5.    Add the almost-boiling water to the pot, rotating the pot to saturate the grounds evenly. Fill with hot water to upper chrome metal band on press pot.
6.    Stir the coffee a few times quickly with a non-heat absorbing spoon (plastic) for 30 seconds to increase the contact with the grounds. The goal is to get a “cream” to form at the top.
7.    Place the mesh plunger on top to keep the coffee warm, and let steep for 2-3 minutes for a small pot, 4 minutes for a larger pot. Then press the plunger through the water slowly, using slight pressure.
8.    Serve into cups immediately.

CaffeMaker French Press Coffee Tips:

Tip: The press should be pre-warmed before putting the coffee in. This will help keep the glass from absorbing as much heat when the hot water is put in the press thus making for warmer coffee when you pour.

Tip: Some people suggest plunging immediately for better taste. You can try both ways.

Tip: For a stronger cup, add more coffee grounds per cup.
Tip: Do not brew for longer than recommended time.
